Executive Director – Legal, Shipping & Maritime
Rosana Rodrigues is a co-founder and partner of TFRA Law Firm. Her work mainly involves advising foreign investors in Portugal, particularly in areas of Corporate and Tax law. She has also work extensively in Shipping law.
Before founding TFRA Law Firm, she was a legal adviser to the Vice Presidency of the Regional Government of Madeira.
Throughout her career at MCS she has been board member of several international service companies operating in the Madeira International Business Center.
She graduated from Lisbon University Law Faculty in the field of legal sciences.
She has been a member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 1990.
She is fluent in Portuguese, English, French and Italian.
Director – Legal & Corporate
Ambrosio Jardim has, since 1998, worked mainly in the areas of commercial law (corporate, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, restructuring and planning), national and international tax law and real estate.
He has specialized in the support and ongoing advice to foreign investors in Portugal and in the support and consultancy in the internationalization of Portuguese companies.
He has sat on the Board of several multinational companies operating within the institutional framework of the Madeira International Business Center.
Ambrosio Jardim is a law graduate from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, being a member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 2001 and member of the International Tax Planning Association (ITPA).
Ambrosio Jardim is fluent in Portuguese and English.
Director – Financial & Compliance
Maria Alexandra Pires has been working at MCS since 2008 and is part of its Board.
Her work involves several areas such as Financial Control, Compliance and Logistics, all of which are vital for companies operating in the Madeira International Business Center.
She has a BA degree from the University of the Witwatersrand (1985). She later completed her Honours degree in Comparative Literature at the Universidade Fernando Pessoa in Oporto (2004).
She is fluent in Portuguese and English and has knowledge of French.
Director – Strategic Development & KYC Operations
Miguel Pinto-Correia holds a Master Degree in International Economics and European Studies from ISEG – Lisbon School of Economics & Management and a Bachelor Degree in Economics from Nova School of Business and Economics. He is an effective member of the Order of the Economists (Ordem dos Economistas), and within the Order he is a fellow of the College of Political Economy.
Before joining MCS, he was Project Management Director in the medical devices/pharmaceutical field, tax consultant (Personal Income Taxation) in a Big Four and technical adviser on Small Island Economies and Jurisdictions to a Member of the European Parliament.
Miguel is also a columnist for regional and (inter)national news outlets.
He is fluent in Portuguese and English.
Lília has gradutated in 2002 with a law degree from Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
She has joined MCS’s legal team in 2003 providing support to legal department in the areas of corporate and shipping. Having interrupted her fuctions between 2007 and 2013, when she was City Councilor for Machico municipality.
Lília is fluent in English and understands French and Italian.
She is Member of the Portuguese Lawyer’s Bar since 2005.
Pedro holds a degree in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, a postgraduate degree in Tax Law from the Institute of Economic and Financial Law, and a degree in Tax Law from the Portuguese Bar Association
He has been practicing law since 2009, having interned in an international law firm for two years and six months, where he subsequently became an associate lawyer for the next six years.
He has specialized in legal support and monitoring at the corporate level, namely in the areas of tax, labor, and commercial law.
Certified Public Accountant
Laurinda holds a Diploma in Business Administration from South African Institute of Administration and Commerce.
Since 1995 she has been a member of the Order of Certified Accountants (Ordem dos Contabilistas Ceritificados), the Portuguese board of chartered accountants. In 1999 Laurinda obtains the Diploma of Quality Auditor from the Agesfal Management Institute and in the next year she becomes a Certified Real Estate Agent through the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Laurinda joined the MCS Team in 2011.
She is fluent in Portuguese, English and Afrikaans.
Rute has more than 20 years of experience in financial accounting. Throughout her career as an accountant she has always been linked to the International Business Center of Madeira and to the Madeira Free Trade Zone.
In 2011 she joins the MCS team, after completing her accounting and tax update course during the previous year.
She is fluent in Portuguese and English, and has knowledge of Italian.
Internal Auditor & Administrative
Ricardo holds a bachelor degree in management from ISAL and has been working at MCS for more than 20 years. Due to its professional and academic background he is charged with providing independent and objective evaluations of the company’s financial and operational business activities, in cooperation with the departments for Strategic Development and Accounting.
Apart from the role mentioned above Ricardo oversees, together with the Financial & Compliance department all transactions and payments.
Pedro provides administrative support to all departments at MCS, helping operations run smoothly between MCS and its governmental and third-party stakeholders.
In addition to the role above, Pedro liaises with couriers, posts, Tax Authority and Social Security assuring that our clients comply with their obligations, paperwork deadlines and archiving.
